Overview

Turtle Pond is a project started by an Estonian traveller who happened to chance upon the beauty of Coorg during a cycling tour. He fell in love with the place and kept coming back for quiet sojourns during his expeditions through the country. Soon enough he started building Turtle Pond with the help of some local artisans with the intention of providing travellers with the same experience he had when he first visited the place.

Turtle Pond has four cottages and these quaint log cabins make for a quiet and comfortable stay. The designs of the cottages resemble the cottages in rural Northern Russia and rural Estonia. The sloping tiles and the wooden finish makes these cozy cottages look like they’re out of a children’s story book and the peaceful surrounds offer peace and tranquillity.

The cottages are located near Irpu and is well-connected to many other tourist attractions in Coorg. One can easily enjoy the delights of the Coorg has to offer. Staying in these cottages will make your vacation more enjoyable, memorable and eventful.

The nearest railway station is Mysore Junction which is 121 km away while Kannur Railway Station is 126 km away from the property. The closest airport is in Mangalore and Mangaluru International Airport is 222 km away from Turtle Pond. Bangalore International Airport is 222 km away from here. Turtle Pond has a total of 5 rooms which are categorized into Hut and Chalet Style. One can avail any of these cottages along with a Modified American Meal Plan which includes a complimentary breakfast and dinner. The rooms are cozy and have a peaceful and tranquil ambience. The warm hospitality of host and the staff here is heartwarming.

Things To Keep In Mind

There are plenty of mosquitos in the area. It is therefore advisable for guests to carry a mosquito repellent.
Wildlife sighting is possible as the property is located near a forest area.
Mobile network may not strong near the property.
Guests are advised to carry necessary medication and first aid kit, in case it is not available near the property.
Comfortable trekking shoes, torch, an umbrella, sunscreen, a raincoat, and a cap should be carried as the weather in Coorg is very unpredictable.
